Pacman V Clottey

Ok it's that time of the year again and in less than 48 hours, Manny Pacquiao (50-3-2) will face Joshua Clottey (35-3) inside the ring amid a huge crowd of 45,000 fans at Cowboys Stadium. Pacman will be defending his WBO Welterwight belt and many critics are suggesting that this is a tough and difficult fight for Manny, that Clottey is perhaps the biggest and baddest opponent the Filipino will have faced in his career.

In boxing anything can happen.  Clottey has a strong punch but it appears that analysts are trying to find something/anything in their imagination to suggest any credible opposition to the pound-for-pound king.  For some reason, much of the respective opinions are manufactured, or a way to identify Clottey's style or size as somehow problematic for Pacquiao.

The only fighter in this weight division that makes for a significant opposition to Pacquiao is Floyd Mayweather, Jr due to the American's tremendous jab.  Manny may be problematic for Floyd.  But Floyd's style is also problematic for Pacquiao.  Clottey however is no Mayweather.

On a side note here's one of the reasons why the dream fight between pacman and mayweather never happened.

"That mother***** is on the A-side meth, that's what the f*** he's on," "It's called the A-side meth. He on that or he on something else. The A-side meth is what they used to have 500 years ago. Remember when the Philippines were fighting the US soldiers? They were shooting them motherf****s with 45s. And 45s were bouncing off their motherf****ng a$$. They weren't even dying!" -- Roger Mayweather
